The Informal Settlements Unit, in collaboration with the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force, the Ministry of Immigration and Border Services, the Planning Department, and the Crown Land Unit, completed a multi-agency reclamation exercise on Crown Lands yesterday, July 17, 2024. This initiative targeted two locations within informal settlements on Crown Lands, as part of the government's ongoing efforts to manage and regulate the use of these lands.
1st Location - Robinson Street - Crown Land
At the Robinson Street informal settlement, the exercise involved the removal of one incomplete extension and one foundation. The incomplete extension was vacant at the time and was safely removed. A foundation located approximately 20 feet east of the incomplete structure was also removed.

2nd Location - Engine Hill - Crown Land
At Engine Hill, within the 'Club Med Housing' informal settlement, the Crown Land Unit took action to prevent further occupation of an unfinished two-story structure. The doors were removed, and the entryways were securely barricaded.

The Informal Settlements Unit remains steadfast in its commitment to enforcing regulations and ensuring the proper use of Crown Land. These efforts are integral to building safer, more sustainable communities in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
